Research Notes

  1. Fergus ruled Dal Riada from 778 to 781. Ashley has his father as Áed Find, different than what is current here. [1]
  2. The Wikipedia list of the kings of Dál Riata records Fergus (Fergus Mac Echdach) of the Cenel nGabráin; and a brother of Áed Find, was king 778–781 [2] Note: The Cenel nGabráin were the kindred of Gabrán mac Domangairt, a king of Ulaid, that part of Dál Riata in Ireland.

Dalriada & Pictavia are two different kingdoms - The Fergus with a connection to Dál Riata for whom references have been entered here; would be a different person to Fergus of the Picts, for whom this profile is written.
